Revival in Style

Working with a historic home is always an exciting opportunity to mix the new with the old, and this near complete gut rehab was no exception. This home, built in 1913, had many original features, including the kitchen, bathrooms, lighting and millwork. Our goal was to preserve many of these treasured details from the past while creating cohesive interiors that reflect today’s modern lifestyle. A rich stain on the kitchen’s beadboard ceiling brings warmth to this central space, while zebra-print wallpaper adds visual interest in the powder room. Using a palette of cool tones, we incorporated durable fabrics and playful design to reflect the family’s three young children and dog.
